My professional background and work
Since many years I have been living in Basel with my family and have, for around 10 years by now, devoted myself deeply to the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine and especially classical Chinese medicine – introduced and taught to me by Prof. Pan Xiao Chuan, Dr. Xu Wen Bin, and Dr. Yi Zhi Biao among others.
In general, decisive influence on my studies have been, and continue to be, the practical as well as theoretically comprehensive lectures of Dr. Ni Haixia – who is arguably one of the best Chinese doctors of recent times. Originally from Taiwan, he became significantly key to his field in the United States, where he played a crucial role in winning Classical Chinese Medicine official recognition within the American healthcare system.
In addition to my training and studies in acupuncture and acupressure I also started emerging myself in the studies of the ancient Chinese teachings on herbal medicine and nutrition as such, which is a deeply complex but equally fascinating field as well. Moreover, it is my goal to eventually integrate the European herbs into the system of Chinese medicine. By that I mean to categorize the herbs local to this continent according to the TCM system, since it is a key principle to Chinese medicine, that local food and herbs carry the energy most suitable for healing the local people.

My work and Practice
In my practice at Grellingerstrasse 25, 4052 Basel, CCM for Kids and Parents, I have decided to specialize in treating children and adolescents. Simply speaking because I am passionate about helping young lives to maintain and get back to good health in a natural and sustainable manner, avoiding any unnecessary or preventable damage. This is – I feel – a highly important matter, which is consequently the reason why my work is so rewarding to me.

How does Acupressure for kids work – without needles?
As a child is still in an energetically very special state (纯阳之体), which changes as it grows into adolescence, the techniques of acupressure for children are somewhat different from those for adults.
In addition, for both children, as well as adolescents, I do not use needles at all, since their young organism is still so fragile and sensitive, that solely pressing/ massaging combined with herbal medicine if needed is sufficient to reach any treatment goals.
By gently pressing and massaging the area at the ‘effected’ acupoints I aim to resolve blockages or harmonize unbalanced energies – which is in principle the root cause of any ailments – thereby allowing the energy (Qi) to flow naturally again. Additionally, I offer you (the parents) guidance for a proper and well-balanced diet according to the principles of Chinese medicine – to ensure, that your little one is getting the right nutritional basis. The right diet and eating habits will have an impact on their entire life, playing a crucial role in enabling as well as maintaining a sustainably strong and healthy body. And as we all know, in a healthy body resides a healthy mind (and vice versa).
