My Motivation and Passion...

...essentially it is a deep fascination for the power inherent in nature, and a profound urge to discover the truth about us and life itself.

But what exactly does that mean and where does it come from?

Allow me to take a step back and give you the full picture.

In a way, it all began with my mother, who had a rather catastrophic medical history. From the age of about 40, she had suffered from rheumatoid arthritis (RA), diabetes, and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. It turned out however, that by treatment with Chinese medicine (TCM) alone, her RA could be completely healed, and both the leukaemia and diabetes had been brought down to a harmless level. It wasn’t until around ten years ago—by then she was in her mid-seventies—following a bypass surgery, that she began taking pharmaceutical medication. And even then, only because she could not find a good enough TCM practitioner in the city where she was living at the time.

This experience of my mother’s – which I witnessed firsthand—is one of the cornerstones of my conviction and trust in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The other, equally important is my own story regarding a fragile health.

From early childhood my physical condition was very unstable—a result of the historical circumstances (Cultural Revolution in China, 1966–1976), marked by malnutrition and a generally very tough life. This left me with a lifelong struggle with my health.

Many years ago then, I came down with infectious mononucleosis (Epstein-Barr virus or Kissing Fever), and its severe aftereffects plagued me for years. Exhaustion, circulatory issues, insomnia, and extreme iron deficiency became my everyday reality. I could no longer cook a meal without needing to lie down halfway through to regain some energy. I consulted various doctors; one general practitioner diagnosed asthma, while a well-known cardiologist claimed it must be psychological—because my blood pressure was better than his—despite me feeling like I was about to collapse at any moment.

Eventually, thinking back to my mother’s story, I decided that Chinese medicine might be the right path. I found a TCM doctor in Freiburg, whom I saw regularly for eight years. Through his treatment, I slowly recovered and regained my strength.

When I became a mother myself, I was determined to do everything in my power to raise my children into healthy and strong adults. I began learning how to treat children using TCM and studied the basics of its teachings on nutrition and food. That was the beginning of my deeper engagement with Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This way I was able to raise both of my children entirely without the use of “chemicals”. They were rarely sick—some winters, when two-thirds of their classmates were ill, they remained healthy. And when they did fall ill, I treated them with acupressure massage and Chinese herbs.

It is now my heartfelt wish and goal to share this experience with other parents and their children. For when a child’s natural protective and healing mechanisms are supported and protected, the foundation for a sustainably healthy life is laid, which also substantially raises life quality itself.
